Xu Shang

I am currently a second year Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California San Diego, working with Professor Yang Zheng. Previously, I was a master student at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I worked in Biped robotics lab with Professor Jessy Grizzle. My research interests lie in control, optimization and learning. Specifically, I’m interested in constructing structured representation for nonlinear systems with high-dimensional measured data and develop efficient optimal control algorithm.

• [11/2024] Our paper Willems’ Fundamental Lemma for Nonlinear Systems with Koopman Linear Embedding was accepted for publication in the IEEE Control Systems Letters (L-CSS). Thanks to Prof. Jorge Cortes and my advisor Prof. Yang Zheng.

• [11/2024] Our paper Decentralized Robust Data-driven Predictive Control for Smoothing Mixed Traffic Flow was accepted for publication in the IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems. Thanks to my great collaborator Dr. Jiawei Wang and my advisor Prof. Yang Zheng.

• [04/2024] Presented a talk Smoothing Mixed Traffic with Robust Data-driven Predictive Control for Connected Autonomous Vehicles in the 43rd Southern California Control Workshop.

• [03/2024] Our paper Convex Approximations for a Bi-level Formulation of Data-Enabled Predictive Control was accepted for publication in the L4DC and here is the poster. Thanks to my advisor Prof. Yang Zheng.

• [01/2024] Presented a talk Convex approximations of Data-enabled Predictive Control with Applications to Mixed Traffic in the CO-PI seminar.
